As the Bris Fest team bid fair well to the old Ashton Gate fields of later years, the new Easter Compton venue sparks new life into this increasingly popular Dub festival…

Literally minutes from the M5 Cribbs junction, Washingpool Farm couldn’t be any easier to find. Lots of hard standing space for the traders and acres of fields for campers and show cars. One of the huge barns on site was opened up where they erected a screen and PA system for all the football fans to watch the England game, good effort! Which is more than can be said for the performance on pitch unfortunately.

The Newport Edition crew teamed up with Bris Fest staff to organise the Show ‘n’ Shine this year, and all went pretty well considering the 7am start and the odd Mk1 Jetta spontaneously combusting. With around 20 categories, there were plenty of medals to dish out. Being more on the Air Cooled side of the fence it was still good to see such a vast mix of metal to drool over.

Without fail Bris Fest weather was sweltering once again. For the past 3 years it’s never rained, Lewis gets burnt to hell and sunglass stripes all round. That said, this show just gets better every year, here’s to 2011!
