Inters 2008
GTi International 2008, after last years non-believers it’s back on top.
What did inters bring this year? Well to me it was a top show, yes the weather was a bit soggy to start with early on Saturday but the rest of the weekend was at least dry.
Numbers were low on the Saturday, but the Edition hardcore pit crew braved the elements and had a good laugh helping Teddy Ruckspin and the Chong brothers set up the show. Even being slightly hung-over the Bacon & Egg rolls provided by the catering ‘skank’ wagons soon sorted us out and it was off to do a bit of bargain hunting around the auto jumble.
As said the weather was dodgy on Saturday morning and show cars were few and far between, so it was off to the traders and auto jumblers as these were all on the tarmac this year, so no more soggy feet. Praise Ruckspin for listening after last years swamp!
Sunday came and the weather was a lot better, loads of cars turned up and the NewportEdition stand was looking far healthier.
The campsite was also loads better this year and well done to those that braved a tent and a few cans. No mud bath, cool bar and cheap food made it all much more enjoyable than last years farmers punch-up, even if there were 7 Gaz Bailey’s checked in on the Saturday!
With more money spent, Ewan winning Best Corrado in Show and the Rallye actually making it to a show, and back. In all I had a top weekend and I’m sure everyone that attended did too. My boss says that I have to go back to work this week sadly as he aint seen me for a few weeks, I told him I would be back early July but he wasn’t amused, so I must get a few hours in so he lets me go to BVF!
Until next year.. Cheers all!
