WestSide VW Show ‘n’ Shine 2008 - A future classic!
This was Westside’s first official show on the dub calendar and already it’s one of the freshest shows of the year.
Westside VW Show ‘n’ Shine was with all due respect the cream of Edition38 held only a few months before. Condensed, strained and squeezed into a small cricket ground in the picture postcard landscape of Buckinghamshire. How they managed to pursued the owners of a pristine cricket club to allow a few hundred motors to park up on their freshly mowed lawns I’ll never know, but they did and it worked.
The percentage of magazine quality dubs there that day far exceeded any show this year. Mainly due to the fact that Westside VW consistently grace the pages of PVW and Golf+ with chromed and polished masterpieces each month, a club with plenty of money and the right contacts. I guess with the ever evolving dub scene the bling polished chrome look will soon die a slow death, but until the chroming industry goes bust Westside VW will be on top.
A pretty short write up this time as I was the only Newportian there, well, except the Gwent VW crew of course. I’ll be looking forward to this event next year, bigger and better no doubt!
