Inters 2011

For many of us GTi Inters is the solid, flagship show of the season. Incredibly well organised and layed out, thanks to Automatrix, with the quarter mile drag strip coming as standard, this year run by RevoTechnic. Despite a cold wet start to the weekend on Friday night, the show & shine entrants were up on last year, if the general public numbers seemed a little less. Sunday weather was perfect, hot sticky tarmac for those fast strip times and a few random clouds in the sky made an awesome backdrop for the quality cars on show throughout the club displays.

There was a descent number of trade stalls here this year. Regardless of the dwindling trader numbers year on year, the ones that did make the effort were there to offer advice on tuning and supply parts at reduced rates. The auto-jumble remained a good source of rare oem parts and second hand bits, always worth a butchers on the Saturday before the crowds arrive on Sunday.

In summary, Inters 2011 goes down as one of the best in my books. I can’t quite put my finger on why this years photography has became some of the best show reports I’ve done in recent years. The chilled atmosphere, perfect weather and utter quality cars just made it so enjoyable to take time out and lay-up each shot just as I wanted. A nice change from the usual rushing around dodging the showers.

Enjoy.
