I don’t know kids, it’s funny how sometimes you fall asleep thinking you’re all safe and everything is good, then you wake up and you’re on fire!

What in gods name am I on?, I hear you ask, well that’s just how Players hits me every year. Sweeping out the garage, compiling unwanted parts for the Bay and generally having a pre end of show season clear out. Then you arrive at Players and your imagination goes ape when confronted by the scores of quality cars scattered around the airfields of North Weald.

Now in their 4th year the Players lads have put on yet another incredible show, but for the true die-hard dub fans out there Players is somewhat sacrilege to the scene. Since 2009 a steady influx of ‘foreign’ metal has been sneaking it’s way onto the playing fields in the form of BMW, Japanese and euro-tuners. However, I’m not suggesting for one moment that this is a bad thing. Of course there’s always going to be people moaning about the odd EK9 or E30 turning up at VAG events, but I think most people will agree this is exactly what makes Players so unique and in my view, a welcome change to the usual hoards of magazine adorned cars at every event throughout the year.

Anyway, enough brown nosing the Players crew, in fact it was nice to see some of the lads actually working on-site instead of lording around the place being followed by an small army of fans. Bowel moving bass lines from a hand full of SPL competition, uhm… Fiat Uno’s etc, setting off every over sensitive car alarm in the place did get a little tiring after a while. Isn’t a fully blow DJ set-up in every corner enough for some people?

Rant over, when all that is said, it’s still a very chilled out show to spend the day chatting shit, taking the piss and drinking coffee to settle last nights curry session. Well done the Players, top show chaps and all that jazz, apples and pears, over and out Charlie Whisky Tango.

Even the kids think Carl Taylor’s MK3 is Fresh

Oh yes, before I wrap this up, I’ve no idea who won what. But I’d put money on a Greg Howells paint job, BagYarded on RotiForm rims, G-werked stance with an MJ Cole 39 hide interior. No seriously now, NewportEdition congratulates all the winners of Players 2010. Top show guys.Players 2010

I have been looking at the expression”BagYarded on RotiForm rims, G-werked stance with an MJ Cole 39 hide interior.” for about twenty minutes now, and it could be a recipe for pie or instructions for making bombs for all I can understand.
