VolksWorld 20110
Posted In Features,Slider Features
Deep down in the heart of leafy Esher, a few of us took a trip down to Sandown Park to see what the air-cooled stable had to offer this year.
No matter how many shows we attend throughout the year, air or water, the VolksWorld show resides in a class of it’s own. But not so much in terms of sheer quality, although of course the metal is outstanding, it’s more to do with the pedigree of show itself. We are now living in an era where you’re hard pushed to find a restorable splity, with or without engine the decent side of 10k. Taking this into account whilst walking around the show, you realise just how rare some of these rides are, let alone how much dollar you’d have to part with to own that early 50′s bug.
All that said it’s still a massively chilled out show where owners and legends of the original dub world just love to chat. Apart from the chuffin annoying bongo player banging his bongos all day it was a good day to wonder around the outside area and wax lyrical amongst the rat rods and clubs. Roll on Van Fest, I think is the next big Air show.
Happy dayz.
